“The Dukes of Hazzard” star John Schneider and his wife were helping flood victims in central Tennessee when Hurricane Ida hit her home and studio in Louisiana – and knocked down a tree on her “General Lee “.
The 61-year-old actor, who played Bo Duke on the TV show from 1979 to 1985, joked about the storm damage to his Holden home Monday in a Facebook post.
âWell⦠When something like this happens, you have two choices: tears and laughter. I choose laughter, âSchneider wrote. “So⦠what’s your legend?” Here is mine: “Miss Ida came to see the general at Miss Shirley’s last night …” “

He also thanked Nashville-based publicist Brian Mayes for sharing a photo of the orange stunt car that looks like the 1969 General Lee Dodge Charger made famous on the show, with the tree resting on its roof.
Schneider has several models of “the general”, according to TMZ. In the popular show, the car – which carries a rebel flag on the roof – was known for its iconic horn, thrilling police chases, and spectacular stunts, especially long jumps.
The car is named after the Confederate Civil War General Robert E. Lee.
âWe are on the way home and seem to be the only ones on the road. I really look at the damage done to mom’s house in the morning, then go back to TN to continue to relieve the floods â, Schneider said in a tweet.
âAll people and puppies are good. May have a “Hurricane Sale at Miss Shirley’s!” âSoon!â He added.
Schneider and his wife, Alicia, were helping collect emergency supplies for victims of the historic rainfall in Humphreys County, WPMI reported.
Authorities said 20 people died and more than 520 homes and dozens of businesses were damaged or destroyed in the floods.
The couple’s Holden property was also reportedly destroyed by flooding in 2016.
