Based in Evesham, UK, Plumbworld specializes in selling affordable bathroom, kitchen, plumbing and heating products to consumers and professionals.
The company has over 160 employees and has served over 1.7 million customers since its founding.
The addition of Plumbworld aims to strengthen Highbourne’s multi-channel capabilities for business and retail customers.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Highbourne CEO Dave Evans said: “We are delighted to welcome Plumbworld to the Highbourne group and see the business as highly complementary to our existing client offerings.
“James Hickman and his leadership team have built a leading e-commerce platform and I look forward to working with them to accelerate their growth initiatives.”
Highbourne specializes in the distribution of plumbing, heating and bathroom products to professional customers, including local installers and large contract accounts.
The company operates 350 branches in the UK and Ireland under its main trading brands, City Plumbing Supplies (CPS) and Plumbing Trade Supplies (PTS), as well as several other specialist online outlets.
By acquiring Plumbworld, Highbourne aims to expand its presence in these two countries without compromising its efforts to provide quality services and customer convenience.
Plumbworld CEO James Hickman said: “The integration of Plumbworld into the Highbourne group is an exciting new chapter for our business.
“Dave (Evans) and the team at Highbourne are creating real momentum in the market and I see huge potential for Plumbworld as part of this growth plan.”
HIG Capital Director Tobias Borkowski said, “We are very excited about the combination and look forward to partnering with James Hickman and his team.
“This is a transformational step in Highbourne’s digital strategy and will provide exciting opportunities to expand relationships with its suppliers and customers.”
