“Did you know that your blender is self-cleaning?

“All you have to do is fill it halfway with lukewarm water and a dash of dish soap.

“Then mix it until it’s clean. It even removes any dried mess! ‘

The mom-of-two shared a video of the trick in action, showing how effective it is at removing chunks of old fruit, which often get stuck in various parts of the blender.

Once you’ve completed a mixing cycle, all you need to do is place the different parts of your Nutribullet or other appliance on the drying rack to let them dry completely.

Thousands of people who saw the simple trick said they had never considered it before and thanked Chantel for sharing her idea.

“Omg, this is a game changer, I’m trying this tomorrow,” one woman posted.

“Amazing – had no idea,” added another.

Chantel has shared a number of cleaning tips and tricks in the past, including why lemon is the secret to cleaning various things around the house.

The first way to use lemon to clean things around the house is to descale your kettle.

“Descale your kettle by boiling half a lemon in water and letting it sit for half an hour,” Chantel said.

The reason this works is that citric acid “breaks down” any lime in your kettle.

The second way Chantel uses lemon around the house is to freshen up old cutting boards and get rid of lingering odors.

“Freshen up and deodorize old cutting boards with sea salt and lemon,” Chantel said.

Just sprinkle some sea salt on the board and use the lemon wedge to rub it gently.

Finally, Chantel said she uses lemons to remove rust from your stainless steel knives, sprinkling baking soda on the knives and then rubbing them with lemon.

“The acidity in lemon reacts with the rust and helps it dissolve easily,” Chantel said.
