New faces at Ready to Work San Joaquin, Community Hospice

Jose Dominguez has been named executive director of Ready to Work San Joaquin, the nonprofit announced last month.

Dominguez was chief operating officer for El Concilio before joining Ready to Work, a press release from the nonprofit organization said. He worked at El Concilio for about two and a half years, including as vice president of program development, according to his Linkedin profile.

Dominguez has more than 20 years of experience in social services and housing programs in the Central Valley, including Fresno and Solano counties, according to the Ready to Work release.

He was instrumental in the development of Stockton’s US Treasury/CARES Act Emergency Rental Assistance Program model, which provided economic relief programs to residents of the city, according to the release.

“We look forward to seeing the impact Jose will have as Ready to Work grows and expands,” association board chairman Anthony Barkett said in a statement.

Ready to Work is a non-profit organization that provides food, shelter, career development and other support to homeless or incarcerated men.

Two New Trustees Appointed to Community Hospice Foundation Board

Steven Pinedo has been appointed to the board of the Community Hospice Foundation.

Community Hospice Foundation of Modesto has named two new trustees to its board, the organization announced in January.

Appointees Steven Pinedo and Mitchell Kudler have joined the board for an initial three-year term, according to a statement from the Community Hospice Foundation.

Mitchell Kudler has been appointed to the board of the Community Hospice Foundation.

Pinedo runs Pinedo Financial Services in Modesto and has 21 years of experience in the financial industry, according to the release.

Kudler is general manager of Audi Modesto and has spent 35 years in the automotive industry, according to the statement. Kudler has helped charities, including the Community Hospice Foundation, organize golf tournaments and special events, according to the statement.

Community Hospice Foundation is a non-profit organization established in 2001 to raise funds for Community Hospice, a community hospice that also provides palliative care and bereavement and mental health support.

Stockton resident named ABC NorCal Apprentice of the Year

Susano Archuleta, a Stockton resident, was named Apprentice of the Year last week by the Associated Builders and Contractors Northern California Chapter apprenticeship program, according to a statement shared by an ABC NorCal representative.

Archuleta won in the craftsman category after being nominated by his employer, according to the release.

On March 25, Archuleta and apprentices across Northern California notably graduated from the ABC NorCal program, according to the release.

ABC NorCal aims to help apprentices find jobs in the construction industry by providing education and training in carpentry, electrical, plumbing and other skills.

The Cathedral of the Annunciation appoints a new parish nurse

Tomas Cano was appointed parish nurse of the Cathedral of the Annunciation by the Reverend John JM Foster, according to a statement from the church last month.

Cano is a registered nurse and works in the emergency department at St. Joseph Medical Center, the statement said.

He received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Ohio University and graduated from Annunciation School and St. Mary’s High School, according to the statement.

The Cathedral of the Annunciation has reinstated the Parish Nursing Program as part of the Diocese of Stockton’s ‘Caring for the Whole Person’ ministry, the statement said.

The Cathedral of the Annunciation is the mother church of the Diocese of Stockton.
