South Swindon MP Sir Robert Buckland chose to spotlight the charity Swindon Domestic Abuse Support Service this week.
The Swindon Domestic Abuse Support Service team use their knowledge and expertise to inform policy and raise public awareness to help protect and keep victims and survivors safe.
Mr Buckland explained: “My local charity of the week is Swindon Domestic Abuse Support Service. This excellent local charity is committed to empowering and supporting all victims and survivors of domestic abuse; providing a range of flexible and accessible services that promote positive change.”
The public can get involved and support the service by donating goods and making purchases at the [email protected] charity shop. The shop is in the Parade of Swindon town centre. It sells a wide range of second-hand items including clothing, shoes, jewelry and accessories, books, DVDs, china and glass, upholstery and household items.
There are also various volunteer positions currently available with the Swindon Domestic Abuse Partnership – including assisting with general form filling and benefit claims, as well as volunteer roles at the [email protected] charity shop.
